In their second round matchup, the Hopewell Blue Devils played against the Trinity Titans. Takiyah Purcell led the way with another great game. She was able to get 18 points, and 4 rebounds. On the defensive end, she was able to get 3 steals. Ariel Green had 10 points, and 6 assists. Madison Tolbert, and Bobbie White also had good games in their respective efforts. Tolbert offensively was able to add 10 points to the score. Most of her points came from the free throw line, as she was 6-8 after being fouled. She also contributed to the team’s defense with 3 steals. White had a near double-double. She had 8 points, and 10 rebounds in the game. Many other players played a role in this one, but these were the key contributors. Hopewell went on to win this game with a score of 56-52, and will advance once again in this tournament. They will play against Highland Springs tomorrow.
