In their first round matchup of the Times-Dispatch Invitational Tournament, the Hopewell Blue Devils played against the Steward Spartans. The Blue Devils came into this game with a fighting spirit. Madison Tolbert led the way with 14 points. Her fellow girls that followed behind her were Takiyah Purcell, and Ariel Green. Purcell had 11 points, and Green had 10 points. Many other players made an impact in this game due to their unselfish play. Hopewell was able to get it done in this one with the score being 48-39. The Blue Devils will advance onto the next round, and play against Trinity.
