Hopewell vs Southampton

Yesterday, the Hopewell Blue Devils played against the Southampton Indians in their first playoff game. Due to being the number one seed, the Blue Devils would get home field advantage. On the very first play, Trey Henderson would preview what was to come. He would score 4 first half TDs (rushing and receiving), and a passing 2-pt conversion. Other scorers from the first half would be Robert “Nook” Briggs (rushing TD and receiving 2-pt), Jeremiah Hutchins (receiving TD), DJ Powell (receiving TD), and Joseph Eliades (passing TDs). Hopewell would go up 47-8 at halftime, Southampton’s only score being a scoop and score early in the game. In the second half, things would be a little slower due to the already out of hand score. The only scorers would be Anthony “Tony” Hale, and Devin Mitchell, both being rushing TDs. The Defense held up in this game as a unit, with everyone putting in work to get the job done. Key plays were made on both sides of the ball to help the team get the ball. Blue Devils are 1-0 in the playoffs, and would like to keep a positive trend. Their next game will be against the winner of IC Norcom and Lafayette.
