In the Girls’ Basketball game last night, the Hopewell Blue Devils played against the Matoaca Warriors. The Blue Devils played a balanced game, spreading the love to each player. Due to this, the Girls’ were able to keep the game close throughout the whole game. Key players in this game though would be Takiyah Purcell, Madison Tolbert, and Ariel Green. Purcell led the way with 13 points, and 8 rebounds. Madison Tolbert had 13 points, and 5 assists. Tolbert was also able to hit free throws, as she was 7-8 from the line. Ariel Green put up 12 points in her effort. Unfortunately though, the Lady Blue Devils fell short to Matoaca. They lost this game 58-54, and they will play against Colonial Heights tomorrow.
