Hopewell vs Dinwiddie

This past Friday the Hopewell Blue Devils played the Dinwiddie Generals at home. The game started with the momentum swaying to the Generals side, after an onside kick recovery. Hopewell’s defense struggled early allowing a TD, and two FGs putting the team down 13-0 early. Despite not playing well as unit, LB Diwan Robertson, and DE Keyon Williams did what they could to get into the back field nearly every play. Trey Henderson would rally back with one of his own with less than two minutes left. The Devils would also force a fumble on the kickoff after the TD. Unfortunately though, they were left empty handed going into halftime. When the second half rolled around, things would look a lot different for the team. The defense would cause multiple turnovers, and the offense would begin to put points on the board. A three and out on the first possession would then allow Trey Henderson to tie the game at 13-13. He and Kavieon Cox would lead the team to 29 points in the second half alone (Henderson with 3 TDs, and Cox with 1 TD and a 2-pt conversion). Turnovers from Jacen Fowlkes (forced fumble), and Kavieon Cox (game sealing interception) would also help the team secure the victory. Hopewell will remain undefeated, and look forward to playing Meadowbrook next week.
