In the season opener the North Carolina Tar Heels played against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Cole Anthony would have an outstanding debut, setting an ACC record for most points in a debut. Anthony had 34 points, 5 assists, and 11 rebounds in his effort to help out the team. Big men Armando Bacot and Garrison Brooks would also play a part in this game. That duo tallied up a total of 17 points, 3 assists, and 17 rebounds. Andrew Platek was able to shoot the ball 2-2 from the three, while scoring 8 total points. Tar Heels went on to win this game 76-65, but there is plenty of room for improvement. I’m sure that Coach Roy Williams will be working with these young men, and getting them where they need to be before the next game. They play against UNC Wilmington on Friday.
