Cowboys vs Redskins

Introduction To The Game

Yesterday, the Dallas Cowboys played against the Washington Redskins. Coming into this game, the Cowboys needed to win this game, and needed the Eagles to lose in order to make the Playoffs. Both the Cowboys, and the Redskins were banged up before and during this game. Dak Prescott was playing in this game with a shoulder injury. This injury seemed to affect his willingness to throw the ball down field.

First Half

Early in the first half, the Cowboys would have struggles offensively. This led to two back-to-back field goals. After this though, Ezekiel Elliott would switch gears, leading the offense to two first half touchdowns. On the drive of the first of his two touchdowns, Amari Cooper would make a big play. The Boys’ would have a free play (due to offsides penalty) and Dak Prescott would throw a long ball to one of his favorite targets. This pass would be completed for 48 yards. The Boys’ also did well on defense for the most part. They would only give up 10 points in the first half. This unit was also able to force a turnover early on an interception.

Second Half

In the second half, the Cowboys played a bit more up-tempo, scoring 27 points. Michael Gallup was a big reason why the offense played so well in this half. He scored 3 touchdowns late in the game. Kai Forbath was also able to put points on the board once again. He was perfect again in this game, making all four of his field goals, and all five of his extra points. The defense gave up two more field goals, but would put pressure on after those two were made. After their final stop, the Cowboys would just kneel it down.

Conclusion Of The Season

In the end, the Dallas Cowboys won this game 47-16, but that wouldn’t matter. Due to the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles won their game, the Boys’ would miss the playoffs. They will end this season with an 8-8 record. At the end of the season, I believe there will be big changes being made. A majority of these changes will be on the coaching staff. Many believe that the Dallas Cowboys will be getting a new head coach, and I have to say I agree with this. While Jason Garrett is a great person, and a decent coach, he doesn’t meet the expectations of the Dallas Cowboys. I do believe that he will be able to find work with another team, and he may even stay in the same division. The Dallas Cowboys have the 17th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and should be looking to make a splash with their pick.
