Cowboys vs Rams

Coming Into The Game

On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys played against the Los Angeles Rams at home. The Cowboys would be fighting to stay into the divisional race with the Philadelphia Eagles. Coming into this game the Cowboys had a 6-7 record, and the Rams had a 8-5 record. The Cowboys were on a 3 game losing streak, and were wanting to turn things around in order to help their chances.

The Offense

In this game the Cowboys would have one of their most impressive offensive performances, and it was against a good team. For the second time this season, both RBs Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard would have over 100 rushing yards for the Cowboys. The duo was also able to score a combined 3 TDs. Dak Prescott was able to hit open receivers, but played a different role than he has all season. Prescott was also able to use his feet a couple times on third down. Jason Witten, and Tavon Austin were able to make impressive catches that would go for touchdowns. Tavon Austin made enough space on his touchdown, that he was able to just jog into the end zone. The Cowboys were able to put up 44 points offensively, a season high, and find a way to get the ground game going.

The Defense

The Boys’ were able to hold the Rams offense up better than last time they played. Sean Lee was able to make key plays throughout the game, one specifically being an interception in the first half. Jourdan Lewis had a big day as well. He was able to make a bunch of tackles, a sack, and also get a pass deflection. The Defense was able to make stops in the backfield, and put pressure on the opposing team. This forced them to have to make big plays. They held the Rams to 21 points in the game.

The Special Teams

New kicker Kai Forbath had an outstanding debut. He didn’t start off the greatest, kicking the ball out of bounds on the opening kick. After this though, he was perfect on all of his kicks, making 3/3 FGs, and 5/5 XPs. This means that he was accountable for 14 of the team’s 44 points.

How Things Are Shaping Up For Next Week

In conclusion to this game, the Dallas Cowboys were able to beat the Los Angeles Rams in one of their best games of the year. The final score was 44-21. The Cowboys are now 7-7 on the season, and will battle against the Philadelphia Eagles next week. After beating the Washington Redskins on Sunday, the Eagles are also 7-7 coming into this game. I believe that if the Cowboys play like they did in this game, we will see a win, and the Cowboys will be sitting at the top of the division.
