On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys played against the New England Patriots. Playing against the Patriots is always a tough challenge. In this game, the Dallas Cowboys definitely struggled. Their inability to score a touchdown would be one reason why. The Patriots defense making things hard on Dak Prescott was a cause for this. Coaching decisions and adjustments would also be a reason why they had trouble. Beginning with not adjusting to Nick Folk’s short kickoffs. When you have previous history with a kicker like Folk, you would think the Cowboys would know that kickoffs aren’t his strength. One other coaching struggle we would have would be kicking a field goal on 4th and 7 down by 7 points. In this situation, it may have been a better decision to go for it and give your best effort. If you don’t get it, it’s up to the defense. Two “tripping” calls would also not help the ‘Boys in this game. These calls were not great in the eyes of the fans, because there were no signs of tripping the defender. Amari Cooper was absent for most of the game. He would have two targets, but no catches. Matching up against one of the best Cornerbacks in the league, while also nursing an injury is never easy. The last play the Cowboys would call offensively, would be a 4th and 11 pass to Cooper. He would give an effort to try to catch the ball, but would not fully secure the ball. The Cowboys lost this game 13-9 against a tough team. They sit at 6-5, and are still at the top of the division. Things need to be improved in their upcoming practices, so they will be in the right mindset to play against another good defense. On Thanksgiving, the Cowboys will play against the Bills in their hopes to bounce back.
