Good News In Miami: Miami vs Virginia

The Miami Hurricanes played the Virginia Cavaliers at home on Friday. This game would be the Canes third conference game of the season (coming in 0-2 in conference play). N’kosi Perry would get the start at quarterback in this game, after replacing Jarren Williams last game against Virginia Tech. N’kosi would lead this team to a TD on the very first drive with a pass to Deejay Dallas. The defense looked a lot better in this game, as well as the kicking game with new kicker Turner Davidson. Before this game Head Coach Manny Diaz (former DC) said he would be playing a bigger role with this defense in practice. Many people think this is the reason for this huge improvement. The defense had one turnover in this game, which would be a fumble recovered by Trajan Bandy. On the offense, there were a lot of dropped passes, but also more play calling issues. One of the play calls I can point out that was head scratching was the handoff to TE Brevin Jordan on 3rd and goal. If we were going to run the ball, why not run it with your starting RB who is in the top ten for yards per carry. In the end, it would be QB N’kosi Perry who would save the day on a rushing TD that would just about seal the deal. Miami would win this game 17-9, getting their first conference win of the year. Hopefully, this win will help to start getting things going in the right direction for next season.
