In the season opener, the Los Angeles Lakers played against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center. Coming into the opener this game was really hyped up. A reason for this is because it would be the first game for the duo of Anthony Davis, and Lebron James. They would face off against Kawhi Leonard and his crew. Both sides had key injuries going into the game, with Kyle Kuzma out for the Lakers, and Paul George out for the Clippers. Unfortunately though our duo would not perform at their best. This factor really hurt the team on offense with both players shooting under 40%. Other than their shooting percentage, they would have good numbers. Anthony Davis with a double-double (25 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists), and Lebron James with nearly a triple-double (18 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists). The team’s shooting percentage and defense would be key reasons why they lost. One good thing that happened in this game was the way that Danny Green played. The former Spur and Raptor would score 28 points in 32 minutes. He would be one of the best shooters (71 FG%, and 77 3PT%) for the Lakers in this game. Danny would also finish the game with 7 rebounds, but nothing in the assist category. The Lakers need to bounce back from this one. They will play the Utah Jazz at home Friday night.
